Scotland – Switzerland EURO 2024 Preview

Desperate for a win, Scotland faces Switzerland in Koln in a fixture from Group A of the Euro 2024. Now it’s the best possible moment to keep up with us and our free soccer predictions daily. Here we go!

The Scottish side needs a major improvement compared to the first game against Germany. Steve Clarke’s team conceded a disastrous 1-5 defeat against the host nation. They also played the entire second half with 10 men on the pitch as Ryan Porteous was sent off at the end of the first half. Obviously he won’t playing in the next game.

Scotland’s manager has to think about bringing the confidence back to his players. It’s never easy to play when you have conceded five times in the previous game. Meanwhile it’s expected that Norwich City’s Grant Hanley will replace the suspended Porteous in the defense.

Billy Gilmour is a player who could start against the Swiss side. The talented midfielder started from the bench against Germany, but now Scotland could need his creativity.

Switzerland are very close to the 1/8-finals. They kicked off their European campaign with a brilliant 3-1 win against Hungary. Kwadwo Duah, Michel Aebischer and Breel Embolo scored for Murat Yakin’s team. It was a very good game for the Swiss team. They need that kind of performance against Scotland as well.

Surprisingly AC Milan’s striker Noah Okafor didn’t play against Hungary as Yakin chose Ludogorets’ Kwadwo Duah instead of him. Maybe Okafor will have some minutes against Scotland, though – he’s one of the very good players in the squad.
